Cameron Day 3

After breakfast, we walk to Multicrops central market which is about 1 km from Brinchang town .Another round of shoppings. More plants and flowers to admire ,and more food to taste especially the famed cameron strawberry icecream ai RM 1 per stick and more souvenirs to buy.

Cameron Day 2 .... continues...

Since there is nothing much at all to see in Tanah Rata, we went back to Brinchang after our lunch cum tea time at T cafe.We have our dinner at Palm Leaf cafe ( on the row of shops to the left of Hotel Rosa Passadena). very friendly and nice eating place. I just wonder why it was not included in the top 5 eateries on Cameron Highlands Online site.

Cameron Day 2 ...... continues.....

After Kea Farm and its surroundings we went bacl to the Hotel to unload our shoppings. Then we took the Regal Transport again to Tanah Rata to have our "lunch" at T-cafe which has been recommended very highly as one of the top 5 eateries in Cameron.
To my opinion, it is only so-so cos the coffee, scones and apple pies are not hot enough since it was raining at that time and we are yearning for somthing piping hot.
Not much things to see at Tanah Rata, so it is highly recommended to stay at Brinchang since all the attractions are at Brinchang.

Cameron Day 2

We went to Kea Farm using the local bus (Regal Transport) which costs RM 1 per pax . Actually we went to the local tour company and the rate was RM 25 per pax for a 4-hours tour to places that are all around Kea Farm Market, except for the Tea Plantation. Since we are not interested in the tea plantation we went by commercial bus instead which can also save us a lot of $$$. Moreover we can also see the places at our own pace and time
First we stopped at Kea Farm and then walked to the butterfly farm. Entrance fee to Butterfly farm is Rm 3 per pax which is worth it, since besides butterflies they also have bettles, snakes and frogs, roses and flowers there.
From Butterfly Farm we walk to Equatorial Hotel and from there we walk to the stalls around the hotel.
We were there for around 5 hours , sight-seeing, more shopping, enjoying fried potatoes balls( which are springy and very delicious when hot).
Took the same bus back to Brinchang town. The local bus runs pass the Kea farm every 1 hour interval on a normal day.

Cameron Day 1... continues....

After a full dinner of veggies we went to the night market which is next to our Hotel to do shopping.Lots of things to buy and to see. We bought the above roses ( 12 stalks ) for Rm 5 to put in our hotel room to admire and appreciate. The cactus above costs us RM 10 for 7 plants. They are really lots of things to buy but we kept on worrying about overweight since air asia will charge RM 12 per kg overweight.

Cameron Day.... continues...

For supper we ate the famous Cameron steamboat at Highland restaurant( opposite Chua Gin Hotel) for Rm 14 per person. The steamboat is unique cos of the charcoal rather then the electric type. Mostly vegetables since veggies are so cheap in Cameron ( 15 packets for RM 10). the steamboat is only so-so to our standard cos we can find better steamboat in kuching ( the dual type) - grill and boil at RM 17 per pax.The cool weather in Cameron is befitting for eating steamboat indeed.

Cameron Day 1 ..........continues.............

Besides cactus in the cactus valley there was also tomatoes , roses and other types of beautiful flowers.

Cameron Day 1

We visited Cactus valley. Entrance fee is RM 4 per person. Cactus valley.... so it is full of cactus lor. It is walking distance from Brinchang town. Right at the back of Chua Gin Hotel ( new wing)

Brinchang Town

Cameron Highlands... here we come...

We stayed in Cameron for 3 days 2 nights at Chua Gin Hotel , Brinchang at RM 60 per night. Nice and clean hotel except for the noisy hawker stall at the back of the hotel. Right in the centre of the town and the express bus from Penang and Ipoh (via new road) stops right outside the hotel. Very convenient and the bus stop for buses to Tanah Rata and Brincang is also right outside the hotel.60% of Brinchang town is hotels , 20% steamboat restaurants and 20% grocery shops.

Holiday- Part 4

This the best part of my holiday. Being first time to Cameron Highlands, we use the Simpang Pulai ( new road ) to Cameron
The scenery was beautiful and breathtaking

Penang Gurtney Plaza

Among all the supermarkets in Penang, Gurtney plaza has the best x”mas decor . Really get you into the X’mas mood.

The Power Puff Girls

While at the Gurtney Plaza, Penang we saw the Power Puff Girls performing.

Holiday: Part 3

Penang- Most of the week end of my holidays , I was in Penang -just to be with my son. We walk 35 minutes to take the bus to Jetty. to Komtar, to Bukit Jambul. to Sunshine Square and to Farlim. I was wondering why a main and busy road like Jalan Masjid Negeri has no bus service at all!!! Took the ferry to Butterworth to meet up with our old friend . Nice scenery from the ferry. So now they have changed the system . One ferry solely for passengers w/o vehicles and one for passengers with vehicles.

Holiday : Part 2

After 2 nights in Genting we took a bus from First World Hotel bus terminal direct to Penang. Stay 3 days in Penang and off to Langkawi. Wrong timing cos of LIMA 05 we paid RM 120 for hotel which is only RM 75 per night. Moreover no entry to LIMA exhibition at that time since it was not open to public yet. So instead of staying 2 nits we changed to one nit . Langkawi was not as nice a shopping heaven as when we first went there 5 years back. No more branded good shops near the jetty and there is no much sale. Chinese food is very hard to find. Shops are dirty. Kenny Rogers Chicken is missing from Langkawi fair Shopping mall. Shandy prices has gone up from 80sen to RM 1.30. Beer from RM 1.20 to RM 1.50.

Just back from a 2 weeks long holiday. Being to 4 places , Genting, Penang, Langkawi and Cameron Highlands .

Genting.
Left Kuching on 1st Dec on an early flight to avoid the queue at the cable car station. Took KL transit to putrajaya station -costs around Rm 6. 90 . Then waited for the next train and boarded for KL sentral and costs around RM 9.60 . Cheaper to go this way -cos KL express costs RM 35 per pax. From KL sentral there is a Genting bus leaving every hour to the cable car station. Fare is RM 7.50 right up to Genting highland. Genting is very cold at this time of the year, hidden among the clouds most of the time. Dinner and breakfast are all in the hotel booking which costs RM 97.50 per roomper night for 2 persons. Very good deal indeed since food up in Genting is so expensive !!.Outside is so cold so hid in the casino most of the time playing the 1cent slot machine. Won RM 100 on the first day but lost Rm 90 on the next day. Consolation-- free porridge at 2 am in exchange of 1 genting gambling point and free chicken rice lunch on the 3rd day in exchange of 10 genting points.
