Inter house cross country race

Our school( SMB St Joseph) had the annual inter-house cross country race at the Reservoir Park Kuching this morning. I am the teacher-in -charge for Mark house 2B...so some photos to share with all my loyal readers .

After checking the official result 2B is in the top 3....3rd position...not bad well done boys.....Keep on running ......

Congratulations to Myself for passing level 8 in Zuma...hip hip hurray.... now into level 9-4......very good way to relax after a hard day's work...but the fingers do get quite painful after hitting rounds and rounds of multi coloured marbles. Very addictive...especially when you got stuck at a level....you would just keep on playing till you get over it...and without realising the passing of time.......Seniors citizens should play more of this...train you to have
1. sharp eyes
2. quick hands
3. think ahead
4. planning
5. strategic
6. and not to give up...but when can I ever pass this level ????

BTW what is zuma?
Eliminate all the balls rolling on-screen before they reach the skull. If a ball reaches the skull, you lose a life. When all your lives are gone, Zuma will have its revenge! Muahahaha

Are they all like me?

Chinese New Year shopping

Still 20 more days to CNY but I feel like in CNY mood already ,maybe because of all the pre-ordering of delicacies,cakes ,cookies etc that fast forward me into this CNY shopping. Added advantage.... shop before pay day then you tend to shop less and shop for cheaper things
I put up the first piece of my CNY decoration today ..the small pineapples are so cute and cheap ( big one Rm 1.50 and small one RM 1 only) that they caught my attention amongst all the red and bright decor in the supermarket



Those plants are believed to be able to turn one's luck to better ones since they turn as they grow...... i don't quite believe it but I do need them for my PTK exam in Dec 2006( in order to get 32/40 correct ) cos the Dec 2005 I got 5 questions definitely wrong already..and many questions seem to me to have 2 answers ...but i can only choose and blacken one ...so how le???? no way to get the promotional pay... no matter how hard I work this year. So hope those plants will turn my luck for PTK lor
Besides those I also bought these at RM 6.80 for 16 of those cute lanterns (hang where le.. Still undecided ...)

and I bought these wine glasses especially to enjoy wine drinking during the CNY

Notice the words red wine....cos I bought them to drink red wine since I have many bottles of red wine

as I am not an alcoholic...I drink red wine with ribena plus lots of ice... Very yummy
and I got myself a bottle of port from langkawi ( RM 40) ..Everyone tells me port is nice ..I haven't try yet...

Lastly hope drinking more wine will help me to analyze the PTK questions better in Dec 2006 exam since those questions cannot be answered by sober people...so have to try the not sober way....maybe can get 40/40 correct.......or at least 32/40 correct

Delivering the chinese dowry 送嫁妆

Atas Urusan kerajaan keluarga , I was asked to escort my husband's first nephew to send the dowry and wedding gifts over to his bride-to-be house today. I "kon-kon" follow my sister-in-law instructions to bring the dowry and the gifts over cos I am really lost when come to chinese wedding traditions.and customs When I married 26th years ago, i didn't have all this... ours was engagement cum marriage.... one go...simple and economical .

If we follow the actual chinese dowry list ,
It is:
1. 24-carat gold jewelries;
2. 1 pair of chopsticks to indicate "fast son";
3. 2 bowls tied up with red string which is called "sons and grandsons bowls";
4. toilet kettle; (aka potty)
5. bed spread and pillows and quilt embroidered with dragon-phoenix design;
6. scissors and ruler; wallet and belt,
7. sliced candy;
8. tea sets including tea pot, tea cups and tea tray;
9. clothe wrapped together with cypress leaves,
10. lotus seeds,
11. lucky money (Li Shi),
12. dried fruit such as dragon eyes.
so long the list ...
no wonder so many chinese girls remain unmarried despite of faithfully throwing boxes of oranges into the river year after year during chap Goh Mei

so this is what we brought:
1. Tinned foods ... indicating abundant food
2. A pair of candles ...bright life after marriage
3. $$$$ .... rich and wealthy
4. Super big Oranges.....properous
5 2 bottles of Chivas ......got class..purpose i don't know oh
maybe to make the father -in law happy lor
6. Super sweet nutty candies......super sweet marriage life
7. Long life noodles ...long life of cos
8. Jewelries.....not 24 carats of cos...maybe 24.8 carats




i love the design of the basket for carrying all this... and this basket is a family treasure... had been used for sending dowry for 3 of my sister-in-laws, 2 brothers-in-law and 2 nieces



And for just as an escort i got this...not bad ....anybody else want me to send his dowry....???
actually hor.. doing all this make me feel like an old auntie liao....when i married into the family this nephew of my husand is only so small....


and now...going to get married liao...time really really flies

Hairy bear

Traditionally, someone who works well with plants is said to have a green thumb, or green fingers.
I have a friend who has such green fingers that the bear that i gave her as souvenir from cameron starts to grow HAIRS all over the body.......face , arm, chest, legs and even the armpits.......as proven by the pictures below......
how she does it?........by bathing the bear twice a day ...bathing means dipping the bear into the water plus spraying the bear with water many times a day.....
Interesting hor.. then try with your teddy bear, it may or may not be like the hairy bear below.....cos it depends on how green are your fingers lar

Oh My Goat!!!!!

Holiday ends today.....

After 2 whole months of holiday...... the holidays finally ends today and work will start tomorrow... After all the rejuvenating, enough sleep and rest I am all ready for the school tomorrow.. to face all the teens .. to be jack of all trades,besides the core teaching jobs, teachers are also:

-mata aka policeman ( to maintain law and order)
-missi aka nurse ( to help studebts who are sick..nose bleed...wounded..broken arm and legs etc etc.... )
-medicine dispenser aka pharmacist ( to dispense panadol for stomachaches, headaches.... and all types of aches that you can think of....)
-chai huu ( colonial time) aka clerks to do tons and tons ,loads and loads of paperwork.. registration forms, computer forms..statistics for Education Dept..parents salary...orphan or not orphans...boys or girls... religions etc etc )
-IT specialists (cos need to use IT to teach science and maths )
-DBKU aka city council members ( to make sure the classroom and school compound is always clean and sparkling)
-detectives - ( when $$ are lost, things are stolen, fire-crackers are let off)
-baby sitters ( when other teachers are absent for one reason or the other)
-bankers ( to collect $$$ etc.....)
-security guards ( to check students discipline)

Wow so long kah the list.... long live all teachers.......but despite of the long list I still love teaching cos teaching is a vocation... God's calling and not $$ calling
